Happy Dance

I finally got back into my blog site. Yay! Damn hackers!!!

Blog update

I’m getting out of reviewing books. So if I happen to put a review on here its because the book really spoke to me.

I will probably just do random blog post about random thoughts or events that I feel need to be voiced.

I’m going to look into changing my blogs name to thoughts instead of reads. Let’s see if they will let me lol.

I used to blog a lot in the past about random things. I think its due time I start doing that again.

a little help plz.

Does anyone know how I can get a hold of Blogging For Books? An email or phone number? I tried their twitter. Nothing. They sent me a book. Its going on a week and half no book. No email saying it was delayed nothing. I have never had this issue with them before. I’m very confused.

Book Review: Camanchaca by Diego Zuniga (Translation by Megan McDowell)

I was lucky enough to win this book in a three pack giveaway on Twitter.

Alas I had to give this book only 2/5.

Its a short book. I read it in one setting. I just couldn’t connect with any one in this book. The MC was on a trip across Chile’s Atacama Desert with his dad ,stepmom and her son.

There was a bit of a mystery involving the death of the MC Uncle. I really think something vibe wise was lost in translation with this book. Everything seemed distant to me. Like I was listening to TV show playing in another room and trying to figure out what was happening.

Nurk – The Strange Surprising Adventures of a (somewhat) Brave Shrew by Ursula Vernon

I gave this one 3.5 stars. Such a cute middle grade read. I read this one I. One sitting. It flowed so well. It has adorbs illustrations done by the author.

Nurk, a sort of brave shrew, packs up a few pairs of clean socks and sails off on an accidental adventure.

Its a sweet adventure that all ages would enjoy.

Lol I’m always a sucker for animal fantasy adventures.

My weekend reads

Well I am currently reading The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley.

If I get that read before end of Sunday I will start The Doll-Master & other tales of  Horror by Joyce Carol Oates.

So what are you reading this weekend?

BOOK REVIEW: The Chamberlain Key: Decoding Startling Messages from God, Hidden for Centuries in an Ancient Biblical Manuscript by Timothy P. Smith, Robert Hostetler

9781601429155 I gave this book 3 stars. It was very interesting in the way it laid out the fact’s. I found the back story could have been a little less.

Basically Timothy Smith,  is an appraiser and conservator of artifacts and antiquities, discovered and decoded a complex message in an ancient Hebrew manuscript of the Bible–a message that applied startlingly and unmistakably to him! The book relates the painstaking process Smith undertook to verify and authenticate this “contact”–a quest filled with adventure and mystery. But instead of using old maps to find buried treasure, this hunt uses the data calculation power of modern technology. The author’s remarkable discovery shows how the Bible is even more amazing than we ever dreamed… layered with meaning and insight, a book like no other, prepared by a brilliant Creator who wants to explain his loving plans, as well as issue serious warnings that may apply to the generations alive today.”

Author Info

I was a bit under whelmed by this book! To be honest.

I was sent this book by Blogging For Books in return for my honest review!
