Words of Wisdom: Biophilia

Biophilia is the passionate love of life and of all that is alive. It is the wish to further growth, whether in a person, a plant, an idea, or a social group. The biophilious person wants to be more rather than to have more.

– Erich Fromm

Beautiful

“Was it the smile of early spring
That made my bosom glow?
‘Twas sweet, but neither sun nor wind
Could raise my spirit so.

Was it some feeling of delight,
All vague and undefined?
No, ’twas a rapture deep and strong,
Expanding in the mind!”

~Anne Bronte, ‘In Memory of A Happy Day in February’

Poetry

“One can make a day of any size and regulate the rising and setting of his own sun and the brightness of its shining.”

~John Muir.

Wise Words

“When I say be creative, I don’t mean that you should all go and become great painters and great poets. I simply mean let your life be a painting, let your life be a poem.”

~ Osho

Poetry

“Out of the bosom of the Air,
Out of the cloud-folds of her garments shaken,
Over the woodlands brown and bare,
Over the harvest-fields forsaken,
Silent, and soft, and slow
Descends the snow.”

~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow- Snowflakes.

BOOK REVIEW: A DROP OF NIGHT by Stefan Bachmann

Wow!!!!!! 5/5* for this book Holy Fuck! They seriously need to make a movie out of this one. I was in one reading slump from hell. Not anymore.

This book is a creepy lil read that has you hooked by the first chapter. It fluxes between the presant and the past. Has you guessing at every turn. Soon your just as lost and confused as the characters turning each page holding your breath. I was in tears in parts. I loved this book it seriously destroyed me.

I am seriously buying this one. Both in physical and ebook.

Please read this one if you have a chance.

The Chinese Portrait’s Tag.

1. IF YOU WERE ONE IF THE FOUR ELEMENTS, WHAT ELEMENT WOULD YOU BE?

I would be Fire. (I have a natural draw to flames)

2. IF YOU WERE AN ANIMAL, WHAT ANIMAL WOULD YOU BE?

I would be a cat ( cats can go through so much shit and still survive a tad damaged)

3. IF YOU WERE A PRECIOUS STONE, WHAT STONE WOULD YOU BE?

I Would be a Diamond. ( it starts out as an ugly piece of coal and through years of hard living becomes somethingvbeautiful)

4. IF YOU WERE A SEASON, WHAT SEASON WOULD YOU BE?

Winter. ( i adore winter)

Ok I tag anyone who wants to take part in this cute little tag. Enjoy!

BOOK REVIEW: By Book or by Crook by Eva Gates (4/5 stars)

This is book one in the A LIGHTHOUSE LIBRARY MYSTERY series. I really liked this one. I totally got some serious MURDER SHE WROTE vibes while reading this book. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

There is a pending love triangle in this book, I generaly hate that troupe but it works in this book. I love both guys!

I also adore Charles the Library Cat.

So quick summery: Library hosts a showing of first edtion Jane Austen books. Arguments, murder and missing books.

A must read for any fans of Cats, Libraries, Murdee She Wrote & Cozies in general.
